Instagram Sunday

This was our lunch today. It was the perfect final meal for a wonderful weekend in which we ate and drank like kings. Lunch today was all the leftovers from last night's roast with salad and olive bread thrown into the mix. Delicious! I feel so lucky to have such amazing friends and to have a weekend away like this. It was just magic.

A Weekend Away

This weekend a group of us rented a house in the country and went away. It was great to get away and totally relax. The house was fantastic and came with it's very own donkey and pony, Lucky & Jasper. So cute!

Macro Friday

Today's Macro Friday is brought to you from the jungles of Borneo. I took this photo on my recent holiday there. The gorgeous colour of the leaf stood out to me and I had to stop and take a photo.

Love Thursday

I can't stop taking photos of winter trees lately. I love their bare branches against the sky and I find I am walking around with my head in the clouds, staring up at these beautiful bows. The weather is suggesting that spring is on it's way and I will welcome the new leaves but for now I am going to appreciate the beauty that is bare branches.

Street Art Wednesday

I'm including two photos today as I think the context of where I saw this art work is quite significant although as you can see in the first photo, if I only gave you context you wouldn't see much. I saw this gorgeous picture on my way to work the other day and it made me stop and take a second look. I love the kookaburra on the branch and the way the girl is relaxing back and the fact that it has been painted up, almost under the rail bridge is great. It's like it's a real little secret. I wonder how many other people have even noticed it?

Winter Trees

Today I spent the morning working on the Kelly Rae Roberts on-line course that I'm currently taking. I was feeling quite overwhelmed, not so much by the content but by the vast volume of comments and messages. So I sat down this morning and actually started reading through the comments from the other participants and also slowly connecting with them. I feel like I'm in a better place now and feel less daunted and left out.
On another note the Two Week Photo Project is going really well and I have found some more members which is super exciting. The photo above is one I posted, can you guess the theme yet?

The Boat Of Life

"Let your boat of life be light, packed with only what you need - a homely home and simple pleasures, one or two friends, worth the name, someone to love and someone to love you, a cat, a dog, and a pipe or two, enough to eat and enough to wear, and a little more than enough to drink; for thirst is a dangerous thing."

Spring Perhaps?

Today was a stunning sunny day. The blossoms have started to bloom and with this semi-warm weather it feels like the beginnings of spring. Melbourne always does this though. We get a few teaser warm days and then we'll get more rain and cold. Oh well, for now I'll be grateful for the gorgeous sun and flowers.

I Need Your Help

I need your help.
I've been writing/photographing on this blog for almost two years. I'm currently taking Kelly Rae Roberts' e-course and last week we were looking at blogging and I'd like to make some improvements and give you more of what you want.
What do you want to see more of?
What could be improved?
What's your favourite feature? Street Art? Macro? Quotes?
If you could please leave me a comment in the comments section, I would really appreciate it. I know many people check in with this blog on a regular basis but rarely leave a comment. I understand that everyone has their own reasons for doing this, but can I just say that when I see a comment left on my blog, it makes my day. I have set up the comments so you can comment anonymously if you prefer not to leave your personal details.
If you do enjoy my blog, I'd love to know.

Street Art Wednesday

It's been a wet wet day here in Melbourne today and luckily for me I've been inside almost all day. I did need to pop out and do a few things and after procrastinating for most of the morning I did managed to drag myself out to the shops. On my way back to the car I saw this and despite the rain I had to stop and take a picture with the iphone. Such a beautiful portrait amidst all the "tagging".

Two Week Photo Project

The new theme for the Two Week Photo Project has been set. Can you guess what it is from the photo above? Head over to Flickr and find out. There's some great photos up there from the past two week's theme which was "circles". I'm really proud of the group, they're taking some really inspired photos. Anyone is welcome to join in, so feel free to become a member and start snapping.

Never Too Late

"No matter where you are in life right now, no matter who you are, no matter how old you are
– it is never too late to be who you are meant to be.”

~ Esther & Jerry Hicks

Today my friend Claire and I did another photo shoot. It was loads of fun and Claire is a great model. I'm working at getting better at directing and giving instruction for what I want her to do. Practice makes perfect, so the more of these we do, the better we'll both get. There's a couple of themes running through these photo shoots, can you pick it?

Instagram Sunday

The weekend was super busy. Between working and socialising I barely had any time for myself. I'm not complaining by any means because it was great fun but by the time I got home tonight I was exhausted. I ran myself a bath and got some music and candles - it was the perfect end to a great weekend.

Congratulations Cadel

Yesterday I worked on an event to welcome Cadel Evans home after his Tour de France victory. It was fantastic to see so many people there to show their support for him. He's such a humble man and it was truly inspiring to see the overwhelming appreciation the public has for him.
