Iris

I got these beautiful flowers last weekend and they were just buds. They've bloomed beautifully during the week and they're so lovely to see every day. The pleasure of having flowers around should never be underestimated. Have a great weekend everyone.

Stillness

I have been trying to make some space in my life lately - in my head, in my heart and in my schedule. I feel as though the first half of this year has flown by. I've filled every minute of it (which has been great) but now is a time for some stillness. Time to reflect on what I want for the second half of 2010 and to find my focus.

Street Art Wednesday

I saw this on Monday when I went for a bike ride. I love the old Chinese style boats mixed in with the modern style.

Mistakes

I read this post today over at www.gwenbell.com about making mistakes and it's really got me thinking. Why are we so afraid of making mistakes and why do we sometimes find it so hard to admit we've made one? And more importantly what are we missing out on because we're too afraid of making a mistake to give it a go? As Gwen says at the end of her post

"Mistakes are life mulch. They let you breathe a bit. They make life richer, give you room to grow.... Go on, now. Make a mistake, discover something new."

* You may recognise the photo above from back in May - well the not so perfect version of it! A definite mistake but I actually love this photo, hence still having it in my collection.

Love Thursday

I love boots. One thing I love about the weather getting colder is being able to wear boots again. I have several different pairs (of course could always do with more) but these red ones are one of my favourite pairs.

Crazy Fog

Last night I was coming home rather late and the fog was crazy. It reminded me of when I lived in Ireland and England and Canada (colder climates) but not the sort of fog we're accustomed to here. I had to try and take some photos and this was the best of the bunch.

Making Progress

I've been watching this building being built for months now and it seems they're finally almost done. I feel a little similar. I've been building my portfolio website for a while now and I'm down to those last touches - almost finished. I think it's time for the final changes and then launch. I'll keep you posted.
