I've got really itchy feet at the moment, I need to go travelling somewhere. Problem is I'm not really due for holidays and I'm trying to save money. I keep dreaming of Europe and of Nepal and of Vietnam. Of speading my wings and exploring somewhere new. Maybe if I wish hard enough one of these will come to fruition. Here's hoping.

So you know by now that I love clouds. I could take a million photos of them. This was taken on my walk to work yesterday morning. The cloud was quite low over the city but above was beautiful blue skies and the light bouncing of the clouds was gorgeous. Such a beautiful way to start the day.

Lunchtime Activities

The sun was shining so I took the opportunity to lay on the grass and read my book at lunch today. It was so lovely and relaxing, I must make a habit of doing it more often.

Relaxation and Reflection

The past month has been one of the busiest I've ever had. It was amazing fun but exhausting and I'm relieved to be out the other side. Now is time for some relaxation, and some reflection on where to go next and some sleep. Definitely some sleep.

Event Day

Ron Mueck

Yesterday I went to the Ron Mueck exhibition at the NGV and it was amazing. His sculptures are so life like but the size of everything is completely daunting. Some sculptures were small mini people while others were gigantic. What I found most fascinating were their feet - they were just so real looking. Such an incredible talent, if you ever get the chance to see his work I can highly recommend it.

Blue Sky Day

After such a grey week, today we were treated with beautiful blue skies. These are my favourite autumn days and you can't help but smile.

Street Art Wednesday

I saw this sweet pair down a laneway recently and snapped a photo of them. This week I walked past there again and there was graffiti, like the silver pen in this drawing, all over them. I guess that's what I like about photographing street art, it's so transient in it's existance but in a photo the record remains.

The Weather Turns

This week we had our first day drop below 20 degrees Celcius since December and boy you could really feel it. The past few days the nights have been cool and it's getting harder to get out of bed in the mornings. The storm clouds have been gathering although we haven't really had much rain to show for it. I do like the change of season and I think autumn is my favourite, but I'm just finding it hard to believe how quickly this year is already going. Anyone else feel like 2010 is galloping by?

Golden Glow

This golden glow only lasted for a minute and then it was gone. I'm so grateful I caught it. Amazing.

Evening Light

As the light fades on another work week I wonder where the time has gone. I don't feel like I achieved half of what I would have liked to this week but oh well, there's always next week. The work will wait. The weekend is looking pretty busy but there's sure to be some fun and laughs along the way. Have a great weekend everyone.

The Morning Commute

As I walked to work this morning I was stuck in the dullness of the morning commute. You know the feeling when you're on public transport and everyone has that same spaced out look on their faces. Then I stopped and took myself out of that space and looked up and around and noticed the crazy early autumn light and the clouds and the reflections on the buildings. I only had my point and shoot camera with me but I stopped to take a few shots. It reminded me of a quote that I have written on a post-it note on my computer screen at work.... "What we give our attention to is who we become". I can't remember who said it or where I read it but in that moment it woke me up and reminded me that I don't want to be the brain-dead commuter, I want to see my surroundings and be aware of the world around me and enjoy it for every little minute that exists. Take yourself out of the rat race today, even just for 5 minutes.

Sunshine

"Sunshine on my window, makes me happy, like I should be" Anyone else remember that song? This photo reminded me of it. The sun shining through the leaves seemed to make them glow and grab my attention and make me smile.

Long Weekend

I've had a wonderful long Easter weekend at Boogie Music Festival, one of the best festivals I've been to. So relaxing and loads of fun.
